Homemade Sourdough Bread
I recently started making my own bread, and I love it! I always felt intimidated by the thought of making bread. My family eats mainly Paleo so we don't eat much of it anyways, but I mean, who doesn't love a yummy bread every once and a while? Every recipe I had read before had so many steps, and I am more of a throw it together, eyeball measurements, and taste along the way kind of girl. Also, I didn't have a breadmaker. BUT I have a really sweet, really patient friend who convinced me I could. She gave me some of her starter, her recipe, and a few tips, and I was baking.
Some of my favorite things about this bread are... 1) You don't have to be exact on all the measurements, I can eyeball it pretty well 2) No yeast! 3) No breadmaker required, just a dutch oven 4) Only 5 ingredients in this bread and NONE of them are sugar 5) I love the crispy crust it has.
First things first, you must aquire some sourdough starter, either through a friend or purchasing some online. Like I mentioned above, I have a great friend who gave me some. Here is one option with Breadtopia, I don't use their starter, but I do use their recipe: click here
