Chicken Bone Broth
Bone broth is just so good for you! It's one of the easiest, most nutritional things you can make at home! I like to put it in my homemade chicken quinoa soup or drink it by itself in a coffee cup. During the cold and flu season I try to drink it and make my kids drink it daily! I like both beef broth and chicken broth, but its hard to find beef bones from 100% grassfed cows, so I tend to stick with the chicken bones. I just use the carcass from the whole chicken I bake on Monday's.
Ingredients
-
Chicken carcass
-
2-3 large carrots
-
1/2 a medium yellow onion
-
2-3 celery stalks
-
2 TBS apple cider vinegar
-
Purified water-- enough to fill your crockpot
Procedure
Place the chicken carcass and vegetables into the crockpot. Pour two table spoons of apple cider vinegar onto the bones and fill the crockpot up with purified water. Turn your crockpot on to the low setting and let it cook for 24-48 hours. Once it's done, strain your broth with cheese cloth and a mesh strainer and store in glass jars in the freezer until you are ready to enjoy them! That's it! So easy!!
